One amazing part of Irish family history is that in many cases, the actual home site where the ancestors lived can be identified. Sometimes the old home is still standing and at other times it is simply rocks in an empty field.
Whether the old home is still standing, when identified, the site alone is equally as thrilling. To walk where they walked is to gain a better understanding of just what these people were all about.
Documenting home sites is a very personal and intimate part of our business. We are well equipped to take pictures and document the site itself.
After our library research, we are often asked to take the next step, and that is to go on site ourselves, with camera in hand. Along with the photographs, we also provide you with both copies of nineteenth century and modern maps showing the spot. Then you are prepared for your own personal journey using our research as a guide.
